At this point in my life I cannot imagine not working with the power of intention on a daily basis. I find it to be a phenomenal tool when it comes to getting things done. Not only do I usually experience the best possible outcome, I receive it in the best possible way.
I have also noticed that I am spiritually guided to set intentions when faced with new challenges. I’ll hear a sentence enter my thought process that asks, “What is your intention for ______?”. For the most part, anything that enters our minds that is outside of regular habitual thinking is the guidance of spirit. This would be the point where I stop and get clear over what I would like to see unfold. This does not mean that things go my way all the time. At the very least intention setting makes it possible for me to let go of the fear around an impending situation. I can release the contemplation out of my mind and move forward with optimism.
As I add new goals to my life I start to feel overwhelmed. I wonder how I’m possibly going to get all of it done. As this feeling weighs heavily on me I start seeking better efficiency with what I’m already doing. Efficiency itself starts to become the main goal even before all the other ones.
For my entire adult life, I have strived to create systems and environments that are healthy and conducive to happiness and success. I even worked as an organizer briefly. I know that eliminating clutter clears the path for quicker and better results. This includes mental clutter such as fear and worry. When we are still and our minds are clear, we inherently know what to do even if that is asking someone else for help.
A few weeks ago I put efficiency before all other intentions. When I did that something amazing started to happen. I found myself waking up to the fact that I was actually wasting a lot of time. I had not consciously realized that before this point. I also realized that there are a lot of chores that only take a few minutes, that I have previously built up in my mind to take a lot longer. I would be standing at the stove waiting for something to cook, and realize I could use the time and finish the dishes. Before this I would put a half an hour to an hour aside to clean the kitchen before bed. If you’ve ever done this it’s a real bummer because it’s the last thing you want to do at night. This all may seem obvious to you. It is just an example of waking up to a new level of efficiency.
Because this particular intention was in place, I started getting a real sense that I had the time to do everything I needed to. This really helped me to feel a lot lighter and more optimistic.
As people, we have the free will to experience life as we choose. We don’t choose our circumstances but we can choose how to perceive them and experience them. From Spirit’s perspective it’s all an opportunity to learn and grow. This is why setting intentions is so important. When you set an intention you’re giving your life new guidelines that will probably work better for you than the structure and foundation you’re already using. Especially if you’re always stressed out. Otherwise the molecules of possibility are just following the lead of chaotic and stressed out thinking.
If you are feeling overwhelmed and spread too thin with everything you have to do, set your intentions to optimum efficiency. You will be amazed at how this helps transform your situation into something much more enjoyable.
